Wondering to know the date for 5G iPhone? Well, you will get that in 2020 according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Ming-Chi Kuo is one of the most trusted sources of Apple rumors. He is once again predicting that the company would sell three different iPhones well over a year before that came true. Now, he is betting that we will see the first 5G iPhones in 2020, despite the fact that Apple’s original 5G modem supplier is no longer making them anymore.
So according to this, we can assume that Apple might have a 5G iPhone by 2020 but it will be using an Intel radio chip. This will not be happening because Apple choose to go with Qualcomm instead and this forces Intel to close up its 5G modem shop. Apple agreed to settle all its pending lawsuits with Qualcomm and they spent at least $4.5 billion to secure the chipmaker’s cooperation for the benefit of iPhone’s future.
According to Kuo’s prediction,” Both a new, smaller 5.4-inch iPhone and larger 6.7-inch one will have 5G support in year 2020,” He also said that all three of Apple’s 2020 iPhones along with a low-cost 6.1-inch iPhone XR successor will stay on LTE for now will feature the vibrant colors and inky blacks of OLED screens in comparison to cheaper LCD panel you see in today’s XR. Furthermore, still will stick around for the 2019 model.
After this information, it is very clear that every iPhone will theoretically have an OLED panel in 2020. Kuo is expecting all of them will have 5G support in 2021. On the other hands, Apple is having the opportunity to switch from Qualcomm radios to its own in-house modems in 2022 or 2023.
