Amazon just announced a total 15 new products. The list includes Echo Buds, Echo Frames, and Echo Studio and these are the main attractions. It has also refreshed or released new products across its Echo and Ring product lines.
New Echo Products
Echo Dot Clock
One of the new products is the Echo Dot Clock. It is a third-gen Echo Dot with simple LED clock on the front. Amazon says that they will be building this product because people are constantly asking Alexa for the time, and now they don’t need to do it.
This can be used as voice-controlled smart alarm clock for those that were intrigued by the Echo Show 5 but they don’t want a smart display or camera in the bedroom. You can just have to smack the top of the Echo Dot Clock to silence the alarm instead of looking for a specific button or using a voice command. Furthermore, the dot-matrix display can be seen with ease at night.
Other than this, it’s the same Echo Dot just like the last year and it delivers impressive amount of sound and volume. The Echo Dot Clock will cost you $59.99 that is about $10 more as compared to the standard Echo Dot. This will be available for preorder today with shipments expected later in this year.
Along with new Echo Dot Clock, there is a new standard Echo that is adopting the design and sound quality of last year’s Echo Plus. Amazon got rid of the wooden panel trims and now going all-in on the fabric covers. You can choose one from four different colors. The new Echo is priced at $99.99
There is a new Echo Show with a mid-size model called the Echo Show 8. The 8 is having a similar design and features similar to Echo Show 5 but now with a larger and brighter 8-inch screen. The Show 8 has a front-facing camera but it adopts the physical shutter switch that was first seen on the 5.The price is $129.99 and it is $100 less than the Echo Show and just $40 more as compared to smaller Show 5.
Anentirely new product is the Echo Flex It is a tiny little Echo speaker that you can plug directly into a wall outlet. The primary purpose of the Flex is to give you the easy access to Alexa in any room of your home without the need of larger Echo or Echo Dot. The Flex is not having a very loud speaker and it is not designed for listening to music with it but it does support all of the Alexa features that you get on the larger models, including multi-room audio. The Flex will cost you $24.99 whereas the add-on models will be available for $14.99 each.
The most whimsical new Echo products is the Echo Glow Lamp. It isa glowing light orb that can be controlled using Echo. You can pulsate to the beat of music, flash through different colors, look like a candle or fireplace, or just tap on the top to change the color. The price is $24.99.
New Ring Product
Amazon’s Ring brand announced the three new products today. This include a less expensive outdoor camera, all-new indoor camera, and a device that lets you integrate home security systems into the Ring Alarm system.
1- Ring Stick Up Camera
Ring Stick Up Cam is a lot more like the one released last year and it will work on either battery or wired power. The big difference here is the price of $99. It is 30% cheaper. The company has also teased the release of an but no demo today.
2- Ring Indoor Cam
The new Ring Indoor Cam that is a shrunken version of the Stick Up Cam and it is the Ring’s first camera designed for indoor use. It looks like a more compact camera as compared to outdoor models but will only works with a wired connection, no battery power here. It will cost you $59.99.
Ring showed a new feature coming to its doorbells next year that will allow the Alexa to answer the door and interaction with visitors. It is expected to first arrive on Ring’s Elite doorbells that will require constant power.
Company also announced the Retrofit Alarm Kit that will let homeowners connect existing, legacy wired home security sensors into a Ring Alarm system. This will support contact sensors, door, and window sensors — and eight “zones” of sensors. It is available for $199 or a bundle with a Ring Alarm set for $379.
New and Low Cost Eero
This new Eero is simple and cheap as compared to prior models starting at just $99 and it is available in a three-pack for $249. This is not going to compete on the other Eero models for speed or coverage but it will also be less expensive to those having price of $300.
Amazon also said that they will be expanding the APIs for Alexa voice control with mesh router systems for including more specific and granular controls, like enabling a guest network or shutting off internet to specific devices. This API will not be just for Ring but other mesh router makers will be able to tap into it.
