It’s 2020, now it’s time for a specs jump and break the rule set in 2019. Last year, we saw the beginning of 5G in the masses. Furthermore, in this era of gaming phones, the OEMs are expected to bring their “A-game” in the spec department, and Nubia will not disappoint a rumored 144Hz display on its upcoming Red Magic gaming phone.
Nubia is Going For 144Hz Display
Nubia took the help of Chinese social media site Weibo for spreading the rumor about its upcoming panel. It was stated that today is a really good day, the 144Hz of the Red Devils 5G is just debugging” This statement was written by the Nubia President and Co-Founder Ni Fei on his social media page.
Fei’s statement clearly tells us that the upcoming Nubia Red Magic 3 will not only have a 144Hz panel but it is also having a 5G cellular connectivity.
Why is a 144Hz Display is a Big Deal?
Wondering, why is a 144Hz display is a big deal?” The answer is as follows:
1- 144Hz Will Breaks the 120Hz Display Standard
A 144Hz display will break the current trend of 120Hz displays. “120Hz” or “144Hz” are the refresh rates, this refers to the refresh of on-screen images.
Every second, your smartphone along with your TV or even PC monitor, update the images on-screen for preventing motion blur and lag.
Slow-motion is something that we crave in a specific video mode on our smartphones but we don’t like to see motion lag on our smartphones, tablets, and computers in a fast-moving adventure scene from a movie or game.
2- 144Hz Rate Will Improve Gaming Phones
Most smartphones are still using the standard 60Hz refresh rate until manufacturers moved to 90Hz refresh rates. But the Gaming phone manufacturers have moved from 90Hz to 120Hz, but now the Nubia’s 144Hz panel in the upcoming gaming phone, called the Red Magic 3 will surpass all the standards.
Note that as these phones are the gaming phones, so they are designed to provide the high-quality gaming experience for the hardcore users who crave the fastest graphics, gameplay, screenplay, and movie plot turns and twists. A faster refresh rate will provide you more thrilling on-screen adventures, in case of games or movies.
3- 144Hz Rate has Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Support
Note that the smartphones such as the ASUS ROG Phone II, Razer Phone 2, Sharp Aquos R3, and the Sharp Aquos Zero 2 are only supporting up to 120Hz. A number of Android OEMs have increased the smartphone refresh rates this past year that include OnePlus with its 90Hz panel in the OnePlus 7/7 Pro/7T Pro.
The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC will support 144Hz refresh rate displays, so it will easy for Nubia to break the standard. With the 144Hz display support in the Qualcomm’s upcoming high-end, the octa-core SoC, Nubia will not be the only one for providing this refresh rate update in 2020.
