What is Off-page SEO?
“Off-page SEO” is also called as offsite SEO”. It refers to actions taken outside your own website to improve your rankings within search engine results pages. When optimizing the off-site ranking, you need to keep factors in your mind that include improving search engine, user perception of a website’s popularity, relevance, trustworthiness, and authority. Remember that you can only accomplish it by other reputable places on the Internet (pages, sites, people, etc.) linking to or promoting your website, and creating quality content for your website.
Why Off-page SEO matter?
It is important to note that search algorithms and ranking factors are changing continuously. The general consensus within the SEO community is that the relevancy, trustworthiness, and authority will effective off-page SEO and a website will still play a major role in page’s ability to rank.

When you are earning links from external websites, then it is the most commonly practiced off-page SEO strategy and almost any activity that occurs outside of your own website helps you to improve your search ranking position can be termed as “off-page SEO.” The things included here are:

- Influencer marketing
- Guest blogging
- Linked and unlinked brand mentions
It is important to note, that the net result of each of these activities is to somehow create a reference to your site from anywhere on the web. That reference can be a link, a mention of your brand or website, or something else. Keeping all this in mind, you can say that the concept of truly “non-link-related” off-page SEO is actually a bit of a misnomer!
Local Off-page SEO
Off-page SEO relies on human behavior. This applies to both organic and local SEO. For instance, even in a brick-and-mortar business, high-quality products will get a lot of word-of-mouth referrals from the current customers that are in-person equivalent of off-page SEO.
How to Perform Off-page SEO
At a high level, for improving the “off-page SEO” of a website involves the improvement of search engine and user perception of a website’s quality. This will happen by getting links from other sites especially for those that are reputable and trustworthy themselves, votes of confidence, mentions of your brand, shares of your content, and from sources outside of your own website.
