Samsung is already working on the two smartphones with a foldable display. We have previously heard that Samsung Galaxy Fold sequel is under works and it will be called the Galaxy Fold 2.
Korean outlet Aju News and Ross Young who is the founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants (h/t: XDA-Developers), both reported that the device might have an under-screen selfie camera. Young added that it could potentially arrive with the ultra-thin glass (UTG) as well, although that is apparently dependent on supply challenges that need to be met.
Furthermore, the two sources also report that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is having a code name called Champ with Young adding that the phone is scheduled for a Q3 2020 launch date. Aju News drills down even deeper and says the phone will be launching in July.
The display executive said tat that the phone will fold out provide a 7.7-inch display, this means that the screen will be larger than the 7.3-inch Galaxy Fold panel previously.
There is no doubt that the Galaxy Z Flip has set a new bar high for Samsung foldable phones in 2020. We can hope that the company wants to want to achieve a similar level of polish with the Galaxy Fold 2 that will be leaving the memories of the Galaxy Fold’s original launch in the dust.
