Tesla just recently announced the 10th version of its in-car software. The software is rolling out to Model S, Model X, and Model 3 owners. Furthermore, those who paid for the Full Self-Driving option on their car will be given priority along with a wider release coming within in a week that will be containing slight improvements, according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. It is important to note that Tesla says this will be the largest software update up till now and highlights all the improvements as an important advantage of buying one of the company’s cars.
What Should You Expect in Tesla Software Update?
Note that the software Version 10.0 you might think that Musk would’ve branded it by now will include a lot of new entertainment options for the Tesla drivers. For drivers, features like Spotify Premium, Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu including the live TV will now be available. Furthermore, the video services can only be watched when a vehicle is parked but Spotify integration is one of the huge requests among Tesla’s customers according to the company. Remember that the people who will stream their music over Bluetooth will appreciate that album art now will show up on the Tesla display.
The next new fun factor will include the “Caraoke,” and this will let you sin
g your heart out with friends on a road trip or by yourself. It is important to note that Caraoke comes with a massive library of music and song lyrics along with different language support. The song lyrics will be displayed in sync with the song on Tesla’s display and the first level of Cup head is added to the Tesla Arcade.
As far as the driving and core vehicle functionality is concerned, Tesla has also launched Smart Summon and have added new functionality beyond the regular Summon feature. You will get this feature separately. Note that the Smart Summon is exclusive for the Full Self-Driving and Enhanced Autopilot customers. This will enable a Tesla vehicle to leave a parking space and navigate around the obstacles to its owner. Note that the car should be in your line of sight for Smart Summon to be operational. Furthermore, video recordings are captured when Tesla’s are in self-protect Sentry Mode and they will be stored in a separate folder from another camera content.
The next interesting thing to note is a new “Joe Mode”. This is made to avoid waking up sleeping passengers by minimizing the volume of certain car chimes and alerts. Moreover, the Tesla mobile app can do a few more things and can control even more aspects of the car remotely like windows.
Tesla said that, for receiving this update as soon as possible, you need to make sure that your car is connected to Wi-Fi. In addition to this, you will automatically receive version 10.0 when it is ready for your car according to your location and vehicle configuration. So, there is no need to request the update.
