Soon you might see that WhatsApp will introduce the disappearing messages feature. This feature will allow the users for setting messages to self-destruct. As per the WABetaInfo, who was the first to discover this feature said that it is still under development and this may be not available to everyone on the beta version.
When the new feature will be rolled out, then it will allow users to set messages to be deleted after either 5 seconds or after an hour.
WABetaInfo further added that this new feature will be available only in the group chats. This will require users’ consent to get every message sent in the chat deleted after a period of time. Note that the “disappearing messages” feature will first appear on version 2.19.275 of the Android app and this can be useful in case of sensitive information.
Moreover, as per the reports in The Verge, this new feature was used by the messaging app Telegram that allows sending self-destructing messages by taking advantage of the app’s Secret Chats feature. Similar to this Gmail also added resembling feature last year.
